Hess donates to veterans’ program
VIRGINIA CITY, Mont. – Hess Corp. has donated $25,000 to Heroes and Horses, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting veterans through innovative, horse-based reintegration programs, according to Hess information.
The donation will be used to enhance program operations, providing essential supplies and equipment that support the nonprofit’s mission to help veterans recalibrate their lives.
Founded in 2014, Heroes and Horses provides combat veterans alternative solutions to healing after duty.
Brent Lohnes, Hess North Dakota general manager recently visited the Heroes and Horses 3,500-acre ranch just west of Virginia City, Montana, to observe its unique approach to veteran reintegration. The ranch offers a 41-day experience where veterans engage in positive stress activities through the horse-human connection, learn new skills and explore mind-body medicine. The holistic approach addresses the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual aspects of healing, inspiring genuine improvement in the quality of life for the veterans and their communities.
“We are deeply proud to support Heroes and Horses and their innovative programs that truly make a difference in the lives of our veterans. The important work they do cannot be understated,” said Lohnes.
The donation from Hess Corporation will fund various program needs, including safety and navigation equipment for pack trips and participant clothing and gear. Additionally, the funds will support the development of pre- and post-program curriculum, ensuring veterans have the resources they need throughout their journey with Heroes and Horses.
