City to install air monitors
Three air monitoring devices will be installed in Minot, thanks to a donation from Xcel Energy.
In response to the City of Minot’s request for assistance, Xcel provided $1,041 to purchase monitors to be placed at Fire Station 1 in south Minot, Fire Station 3 at the Minot airport and at the police station in the valley in central Minot. The public will be able to access the data online or using the city’s mobile app.
Minot Mayor Tom Ross said there was community interest in obtaining the air monitors due to the wildfire smoke from Canada and western states that has impacted the city this past summer as well as recently.
