YMCA awarded funds for virtual wellness program
The Minot Family YMCA has been awarded $13,000 from the Parkinson’s Foundation for the YMCA360 Virtual Wellness program to be offered to local assisted living facilities.
The foundation announced more than $1 million in community grants for Parkinson’s disease programs across the United States.
“Community grants help people with PD live better lives, today,” said Parkinson’s Foundation President and CEO John Lehr. “These investments reflect the foundation’s continued commitment to meeting unmet needs in the Parkinson’s community.”
The Minot Family YMCA reported the support will significantly enhance its ability to provide vital programs and services for individuals living with Parkinson’s disease and their loved ones. The YMCA released information stating, “Our commitment to improving the lives of area Parkinson’s patients is unwavering, and with this funding, we will expand our efforts to offer specialized exercise classes and educational resources, no matter where the patient lives. Together, we are building a stronger, healthier community, and we sincerely thank the Parkinson’s Foundation for partnering with us in this important mission.”
