Lake Sakakawea drowning victim identified

WHITE SHIELD – A man who drowned in Lake Sakakawea about seven miles south of White Shield on July 27 has been identified.

The McLean County Sheriff’s Department identified the drowning victim as Race Russell, 35, Ryder, who was overtaken by water and failed to surface while swimming. Russell’s body was located in the water and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
