Firefighters with the Minot Fire Department were dispatched after receiving reports of a grain dryer fire on Sunday

Firefighters responded to AGT Foods located at 625 42nd St. NE in Minot at 2:43 p.m. and extinguished the fire in one of the outdoor grain dryers. Crews then assisted staff with opening the dump shoot to release the product damaged in the fire, and remained on scene to ensure a fire didn’t restart.

Four fire engines, one ladder truck and one battalion chief responded to the fire, which was determined to have been caused by overheating of the product in the dryer. Once all hazards were mitigated, crews returned to service and the building was turned over to AGT staff.

The incident remains under investigation.
