WILLISTON – The driver who died in a crash in Williston on Tuesday has been identified by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.

Daren Barkie, 55, Williston, was pronounced dead at the scene in the early morning on Tuesday after the 2004 GMC Sierra he was driving drifted toward the east shoulder of 19th Avenue West and struck a 2015 Polaris RZR. The Polaris was not occupied at the time, and Barkie was not wearing a seatbelt.

The crash remains under investigation by the Highway Patrol.
