BISMARCK – North Dakota State Housing Finance Agency is asking those seeking public housing to be on the lookout for suspicious websites or social media posts regarding the opening of a waitlist for specific properties as part of the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program (Section 8).

Fraudulent entities, in a number of states around the country, are posing as official state housing agencies and are asking for personal information.To protect the safety and the security of your personal information, please contact your local public housing authority to verify that they are accepting applications and learn how to apply for a wait list. Never provide personal information on unofficial websites or social media platforms and be aware housing authorities do not charge a fee to join a waiting list.
