NDSF Foundation, Hess honor scholarship winners

Hess Corp. honored eight North Dakota 4-H and FFA high school seniors Wednesday as its 2024 scholarship winners.
Hess awarded $40,000 in scholarships through the North Dakota State Fair Foundation. All awardees are pursuing secondary education or training related to or in support of the community or the oil and gas industry.
Three $10,000 scholarship winners are Teagan Erbele from Lehr, Wade Gorder from Wahpeton and Kyler Morgan from Baldwin. Erbele will study agriculture education at North Dakota State University. Gorder will study welding at North Dakota State School of Science, and Morgan will study entrepreneurship and digital marketing at California Polytechnic University.
Scholarship winners each receiving awards of $2,000 and their education plans are:
– Samantha Burchill from Casselton will attend NDSU to study agriculture education.
– Kali Norton of Ellendale will study nursing at Northern State University in South Dakota.
– Lilly Solemsaas of Sherwood will attend Northeastern Junior College in Colorado, and study agriculture education.
– Savanna Lebrun from Crary will attend NDSCS to study welding technology.
– Jaden Bullinger from Powers Lake will attend Bismarck State College and study business administration.
Earlier this year, 20 4-H Clubs and FFA Chapters in North Dakota were selected to each receive a $500 grant from Hess Corporation, awarded through the NDSF Foundation. The grants are being used for community service projects to benefit the club’s or chapter’s local geographical area or to increase participation in the NDSF.
