Aircraft incident occurs at Williston airport

WILLISTON – One person sustained injuries when a small single engine aircraft experienced problems with its landing gear upon landing at the Williston Basin Airport Sunday.

According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, about 1:28 p.m., the pilot, Douglas Hilderman, and passenger, Charlyn Hilderman, had flown into Williston from Regina, Saskatchewan. Both people exited the aircraft and were evaluated by Williston Ambulance staff. Charlyn Hilderman sustained minor injuries. The primary runway was reopened about 2:30 p.m.

The Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board were notified and are investigating the incident.
