Sixth annual Minot Juneteenth event today

A block party on Main Street in Minot will be held this afternoon to celebrate Wednesday’s Juneteenth holiday.

The sixth annual Minot Juneteenth event is organized by the nonprofit Salah in collaboration with the Minot Masonic Lodge. The party will begin at 1 p.m. and run until 8 p.m., with a free lunch provided by the Acacia Lodge #12 from 1-3 p.m.

A variety of family friendly activities will be available, from bounce houses to go-carts, in addition to a dance group, a live DJ and other musical performances. Attendees also will be able to peruse the offerings of 14 vendors, including several local nonprofits.

The event will include remarks from Trygve Hammer and Pastor Pamela Jones.

Proceeds from the event will fund Salah’s youth mentoring program and a portion will be shared with Matthew 25 Project.

Starting at $2.99/week.
