MACEDC hosts military day

Chamber of Commerce volunteers serve sandwiches, hot dogs, fruit and chips to military families.
At one table sits a group of veterans from the Air Force and Army swapping stories. At the other table, their active-duty counterparts from Minot Air Force Base enjoy lunch and free time.

The Minot Area Chamber EDC held its annual military day in the park on Friday, hosting military members past and present and their families.

The chamber serves food, sets up bouncy houses for children to play in and opens access to the Roosevelt Park Zoo, the pool and Maysa Arena to military personnel and veterans at the annual event.

Keli Rosselli-Sullivan, workforce development and military liaison for MACEDC, explained the event was moved this year from Roosevelt Park to Oak Park due to the work on the flood protection project. She also said typically around 1,500 people come to the event, and this year they “had a great turnout.”
