SBPC to hold livestock development planning meetings on May 28

Souris Basin Planning Council was awarded funding from the North Dakota Department of Agriculture to assist in regional livestock development planning. Funding will support site analysis and strategic planning activities, and will accommodate and encourage investment in livestock production.

SBPC has partnered with First District Association of Local Governments to develop a strategic plan for Bottineau, Burke, McHenry, Mountrail, Renville and Ward Counties. The plan will identify suitable locations for rural economic development, including animal feeding operations, agricultural processing and storage facilities and other agricultural related development.

Kickoff meetings are an opportunity for stakeholders to learn about the project and engage in the planning process. The meetings will be held Tuesday, May 28, at 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. in the Minot Public Library, North Meeting Room. Light refreshments will be provided.

Preregister with SBPC.
