City schedules meeting for Parkview residents

The City of Minot will be holding a meeting Wednesday, May 29, for residents of Parkview Mobile Home Park to provide information on potential relocation assistance that may be available under the Uniform Relocation Assistance and Real Property Acquisition Act (URA).

The meeting will be from 6:30-8 p.m. in the Roosevelt Park Zoo Visitor Center.

Residents were recently notified by Parkview management that leases would not be renewed due to the property being affected by a future phase of the Mouse River Enhanced Flood Protection Project. No timeline was provided by management but residents were informed they would be required to vacate any rentals or relocate their mobile homes in the community.

Current residents of Parkview are asked to attend, as well as those who previously resided in the park but moved after Jan. 9. Residents are encouraged to bring documentation to the meeting, including their lease, utility bills, Section 8 vouchers, pay stubs, taxes or W-2s, as well as their title or mortgage documents if they own their home.

Those unable to attend are asked to contact the Minot Disaster Recovery Office to arrange a time to discuss potential URA benefits.
