Capitol tours expand for summer months

BISMARCK – Monthly outdoor tours will begin and weekend tours will resume this summer at the North Dakota State Capitol.

Outdoor tours will take place at 6 p.m. on June 10, July 8 and Aug. 12. The tour will focus on the history of the building and grounds, the Capitol monuments and the nature trail. The tour will be about one mile and one hour. Scooters and wheelchairs are welcome. The public is asked to meet outside the south/visitor entrance to the Capitol at 600 East Boulevard Ave. and may park in the visitor parking lot to the east.

Beginning May 25, indoor tours will be conducted seven days per week, with the following schedule through Labor Day weekend:

– Monday through Saturday: 9 a.m., 10 a.m., 11 a.m., 1 p.m., 2 p.m., 3 p.m.

– Sunday: 1 p.m., 2 p.m., 3 p.m.

Those wishing to request group tours should contact the Office of Management and Budget. Self-guided tours are not allowed on Saturdays or Sundays.
