Senior Meals program receives donation

Submitted Photo Hess Corp. recently donated $25,000 to the Minot Commission on Aging Senior Meals program. At the check presentation are, from left: back row, Mike Wilhelm and Kiernan Burgard, both Hess; Commission on Aging Executive Director Roger Reich, Jim Almond, Howard Fettig, Bridget Maddux, Jordan Hughes, and Jamie Fettig; front row, Brent Lohnes, Vanessa Amon, and Kimmy Carlson, Hess; Kim Landphere, Nancy Fettig, Darla Kleen, Peggy Roberts and Judy Sundhagen. In addition, Hess employees volunteered to assist in the delivery of meals. The program is donation-based but seniors are not denied a meal due to the inability to donate. Rising costs have led to the average donation declining as the need for meals continues to increase, making Hess’ donation even more important to the program’s success. For the month of September, food costs for the program were nearly $32,000.
