Driver crashes into memory care facility

No one was injured on Saturday when a 25-year-old Minot man, driving a Toyota Tundra pickup, crashed into a local memory care facility.

About 1:41 a.m., Minot Police officers responded to the crash at Maple View Memory Care, 2805 Elk Drive.

Anthony Ramirez, driver of the vehicle, was traveling west on Burdick Expressway, crossed the lanes of traffic on the Highways 2/52 Bypass, struck the building and came to rest diagonally across from two residents’ rooms.

Two residents were asleep inside their rooms when the crash occurred. No injuries were reported for the 81-year-old male and 83-year-old female, both of Minot.

Ramirez is charged with two counts of reckless endangerment, a felony, and DUI, first offense, a misdemeanor.

Ramirez did not receive injuries in the crash and was taken to the Ward County Jail.
