City crews to begin sweeping residential areas
Street sweeping crews from the City of Minot have been cleaning sand and other debris that accumulated on city streets during the winter months and will soon begin sweeping in residential areas.
Crews spent recent weeks sweeping snow routes and other locations in Minot, including hilly areas. Beginning Monday, April 22, crews will begin sweeping in the southeast quadrant of the city.
The street sweeping schedule is as follows:
April 22-May 3: Southeast quadrant
May 13-May 24: Northeast quadrant
May 27-June 7: Northwest quadrant
June 10-June 21: Southwest quadrant
The City uses Broadway and Burdick Expressway as dividing lines for the four quadrants. Residents are encouraged to restrict on-street vehicle parking and, if possible, place their garbage/recycling cans on the berm instead of in the street when sweepers are scheduled to be in their quadrant.
Crews will not be sweeping the week of May 6-10 because they will be part of Spring Clean-up Week. If crews finish cleaning a quadrant sooner than expected, they will move into the next quadrant ahead of schedule.
