BISMARCK — The Bismarck Police Department has reported the body and vehicle of missing Bismarck man Lloyd Liken was found in rural Wells County on Sunday.

The 81-year-old Liken was reported missing after he failed to return home after visiting a friend on Nov. 16, 2023, with his last sighting coming from a McLean County Sheriff’s deputy who saw his vehicle driving south in the early morning hours of Nov. 17, 2023, on U.S. Highway 83, north of Bismarck.

Despite weeks of organized searching by authorities and volunteers by land and air covering more than 16,000 miles of roads and section lines, Liken wasn’t discovered until a farmer came upon his vehicle during a check of his fields about 30 miles north of Steele. According to Bismarck Police, Liken was found dead near his vehicle. Foul play is not suspected.
