Minot business pitches in for Prairie Grit

The owners of Minot’s Papa John’s, Harold Rose, Admir Mujakovic and Steven Marshall, have been donating food from their restaurants to Prairie Grit Adaptive Sports events.

About five or six years ago, Drew Hansen was the executive director of Prairie Grit, and Mujakovic was doing marketing for Papa John’s. When Mujakovic heard about what Prairie Grit was at first and what they were all about from mutual friends, he immediately knew that he wanted to help. He talked to his business partners about the idea and reached out to Hansen to offer their assistance.

The Papa John’s owners donate pizzas, wings, desserts and whatever else is on the order. In addition, they have given Prairie Grit donations to help buy new equipment for the athletes.

“We … really just took it to another level, where we’ve had two awards from Papa John’s, and they’ve been awarded to [Prairie Grit], as well,” Mujakovic said.

Mujakovic was grateful for the smooth transition when Hansen left and Krystal Butgereit took the reins.

“Whenever she needs food, she calls the store, they make the order and deliver it to them so they have food to eat at their events,” Mujakovic said. “My whole life, I’ve always tried to help people.”

Prairie Grit can order whatever they want, and Mujakovic will make sure they get it in a timely fashion. He also does not put limitations or boundaries on anything on the menu.

On Monday, he also said the deal between the three men and Prairie Grit will be extending to Popeye’s once the restaurant is open.
