HHS awards funds to MSU

WASHINGTON – The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services announced awards of more than $1.6 million for North Dakota projects and initiatives in North Dakota, U.S. Sen. Kevin Cramer announced Monday.

Minot State University will receive $102,742 under the Universal Newborn Hearing Screening and INtervention Program. The grant will help identify hearing disabilities among newborns, increase early intervention, and provide adequate support.

The Three Affiliated Tribes will receive more than $1.34 million to support Head Start programs, which promote early childhood learning, health and development initiatives.

The North Dakota Department of Health and Human Services will receive $157,479 under the State Primary Care Offices Program. The technical assistance funding aims to support states and territories and improve healthcare service delivery.
