A couple who were arrested in a drug task force raid last May have received deferred sentences after pleading guilty to a charge of endangerment of a child or vulnerable adult, a Class C felony.
Douglas Travon Woodfork, 36, Minot, and Kayla Woodfork, 26, Minot, were arrested along with five others following a Ward County Narcotics Task Force raid of a Minot residence on May 30, 2023. Both Woodforks were initially charged with possession with intent to distribute fentanyl, 40 grams or more, a Class A felony, and possession with intent to distribute cocaine, a Class B felony.
Court documents indicated the Woodforks had their child with them in the residence at the time of the raid, which resulted in the Class C felony charge of child endangerment.
The drug charges against the Woodforks were eventually dismissed without prejudice on Aug. 10, 2023, after the case against their co-defendant, James Robb, had been taken up by federal prosecutors.
District Court Judge Todd Cresap deferred the imposition of the sentence against the Woodforks following the entry of their change of pleas on March 6, granting them time served of 84 days at the Ward County Jail, along with 360 days of supervised probation. Both were assessed $525 in court fines and fees.
