Sheriff’s department seeks funding partner for K9

1 min read

The Ward County Sheriff's Department is looking for community partners to aid in funding the purchase and training of a new member of the K9 deputy program.

The K9 program was started in August 2019 with the addition of K9 Baxi, who, according to the department, is about halfway through his available time working as a law enforcement K9. The department is seeking help with the approximately $35,000 required to purchase and train a new K9 and have them working by the time Baxi is ready for retirement.

"This will ensure that the citizens of Ward County will not be without a K9 as we move forward. We are determined to work diligently and raise funds in various ways to complete this project. If you are willing to help fund any portion to support this cause, please give me a call." Chief Deputy Larry Hubbard said, "Any assistance that you can provide is greatly appreciated."

All assistance can be sent to an account at First International Bank & Trust at any FIBT location in Minot.
