Minot man charged again with stealing car

A Minot man with numerous prior convictions for theft and drug possession has been charged with stealing another vehicle in June 2023.

Tony Maurice Boose, 36, Minot, had previously been sentenced to time served and probation after pleading guilty to two separate counts of theft take $10,000-$50,000, a Class B felony; fleeing a peace officer and unlawful entry into a vehicle, both Class C felonies; and misdemeanor shoplifting and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to court documents, a warrant of arrest was issued for Boose after his probation was revoked by the court on Feb. 1 for violations of drug court conditions and failing to report to his probation officer in December and January.

Boose has been charged with stealing and crashing a black Toyota Tundra registered to a Minot business that was reported stolen in June 2023.

According to the probable cause affidavit, Boose was captured on surveillance video knocking on the door of a Minot residence and driving the stolen vehicle. The stolen Tundra was estimated to be valued at $12,927, according to the affidavit.

Boose was also charged with Class C felony possession of methamphetamine after the controlled substance was found on him as he was processed at the Ward County Jail following his arrest.

Boose appeared before North Central District Judge Douglas Mattson for his preliminary hearing on both counts on Thursday, and a pretrial conference has been scheduled for May 8. Several closed cases against Boose have been re-opened in light of the new charges, according to court records.
