House fire displaces Minot family

The Minot Fire Department responded to a house fire at 447 17th St. NW on Saturday morning.

Station 5 firefighters arrived on the scene in two minutes and 20 seconds after receiving the dispatch for the fire, according to City of Minot information.

On arrival, the crew could see smoke from all four sides of the house. The Station 5 crew entered the structure to begin a fire attack after the homeowner confirmed that no one remained inside. Smoke and fire conditions spread throughout the walls of the house.

The conditions inside the house made fire attack and movement throughout the house challenging, according to officials. However, firefighters from all five stations contained the fire to two floors,eventually extinguishing it.

No one was injured during the incident, however, the family was displaced from their home. The cause of the fire is unknown and the fire remains under investigation.
