The City of Minot honored 11 of its employees at its Winter Employee Recognition event held Feb. 2.
The employees were nominated by fellow employees or by members of the public for going above and beyond their normal duties.
Employees honored at the event were:
- Robert (Shane) Ciccarelli with the Street Department for cleaning up a large pile of trees and garbage in the street with his own vehicle while on his way to work.
- Scott Espe with the Street Department for keeping the Municipal Court area clear of snow/ice.
- Zachary Knutson with the Police Department for helping save a woman's life during a call for Service.
- Amanda Somerville with the Police Department for helping save a woman's life during a call for service.
- Robbie Boucher, Travis Bullard-Wolf, Dwayne Akin, Krystle Foster and Loren Hammer, all employees at the Minot Landfill, for helping save a man's life at the landfill.
- Dustin Rieke with Water Maintenance for coming to work on an emergency water break while he was on vacation.
- Zephanaiah Oange with the Sanitation Department, who goes above and beyond at every stop on his route as a sanitation truck driver.
The employees each received a plaque recognizing their service, along with a commemorative coin from City Manager Harold Stewart.
"We're proud of all of our employees, and we are especially grateful for the ones who were honored at this event," Stewart said. "Our employees are the backbone of our organization. They are your friends, your neighbors, and your family members. We thank them for their continued excellent service to their community."
