Change of plea entered in hotel child abuse case

Adrianna Cartissia White

A Minot woman charged multiple child abuse and neglect charges in 2021 has entered a change of plea to guilty in North Central District Court.

Adrianna Cartissia White, 29, Minot, entered her change of plea before Judge Stacy Louser on Tuesday, pleading guilty to two counts of child abuse-victim under 6, a Class B felony; one count of child abuse, a Class C felony; and three counts of child neglect-parental care, a Class C felony.

White was charged in April 2021, along with her then girlfriend and co-defendant Tatiana Wells, 30, for the abuse and neglect of three children in their care while they were living in a Minot hotel.

A probable cause affidavit filed with the court shows investigators were contacted by Ward County Human Services and Child Protective Services to assist with photographing bruising and other visible markings on the three children, two of whom were Wells’ children and one was White’s. The children were placed in foster care after the investigation began.

Wells was sentenced to four years in the State Peniteniary in July 2022, after pleading guilty to two Class B felony charges of child abuse of a victim under 6 and one Class C felony charge of child abuse in a deal that saw the three counts of Class C felony charges of child neglect dismissed.

White’s sentencing has not been scheduled, based on court records.
