PSC hearing set on proposed wind farm
BISMARCK – The North Dakota Public Service Commission will hold a public hearing Jan. 29 in Center, regarding a proposal to construct a wind farm in Oliver County and associated transmission line in Oliver and Mercer counties.
Oliver Wind IV, a subsidiary of NextEra Energy Resources, is requesting a siting permit for the Oliver Wind IV Energy Center and the transmission line. The 200-megawatt project would consist of up to 73 wind turbines. The project area would encompass about 22,291 acres in Oliver County. The estimated cost of the project is $316 million.
The 345 kV electric transmission line would be about 19.5 miles long. The line would convey power from the wind farm to the point of interconnection at the Basin Electric Power Cooperative Leland Olds Station. The estimated cost of the project is $43 million.
