The trial of a Minot man charged with murdering his friend in December 2020 will finally be brought before a Ward County jury after much delay.
Shawnee Krall, 30, is charged with the murder of Alice Quierolo, 29, in a case that has taken a circuitous route through the court system. Complications delaying the proceedings included an appeal to the North Dakota Supreme Court that upheld North Central District Court Judge Stacy Louser's ruling that certain evidence, including the victim's body, was not admissible after it was determined they were obtained without a warrant.
Jury selection began Monday, and the trial is scheduled to wrap up on Jan. 12.
