The Ward County Extension Service is offering several parenting courses this winter, of which most are free.
Upcoming courses are:
- Nurturing Families Program, a 16-week, in-person course designed to increase parenting skills and promote healthy family life. Tuesdays, Jan. 9-April 23, 5:30-8 p.m., with a light dinner served.
- Parents Forever, covers taking care of yourself, taking care of your children and being successful with co-parenting. There is a fee for this online, two-session class, Jan. 8 and 10 from 6-8 p.m.
- Parenting Children with Strong Emotions: Anger, online, Thursdays, Jan. 18-Feb. 8, 6-7:30 p.m.
- Active Parenting of Teens & Pre-Teens, online, Mondays, Jan. 22 and 29, 6-8 p.m.
- Active Parenting: Crossroads of Parenting & Divorce, online, five-step seminar designed to prevent divorce abuse, Thursdays, Feb. 1-29, 6-7:30 p.m.
- The Nurtured Heart Approach: Celebrating Your Child's Greatness, online, Mondays, Feb. 26-April 1, 6-7:30 p.m.
