November Eagle Award winner Theresa Loftesnes is the volunteer coordinator for the Norsk Hostfest.
Loftesnes' nominators for the Minot Area EDC's award, commended her for the effort she puts in during the festival and said she is friendly, energetic and passionate about what she does.They also mentioned her hospitality and enthusiasm makes volunteers feel welcome from the time they walk into the door through to the end of their shift.
Loftesnes has worked as the volunteer coordinator for the Hostfest for two years, but prior to her employment she volunteered for a number of years. She started this position after retiring from Minot State University, where she was employed for 42 years, most recently as the director of marketing.
Outside of work, Loftesnes spends her time serving the community through various volunteer roles. She has been on the Magic City Discovery Center board of directors for three years where she also mentors the marketing coordinator and volunteers for the fundraising committee. In addition to volunteering for the MCDC, she is also the joint-treasurer for First Lutheran Church in Granville and treasurer for Norwich Lutheran Church.
Loftesnes said her time management skills have been imperative to her success with volunteering.
"It's not work, it's just who I am - I've been that way since I was little. I like to bring other people in, I like to have a fun time. I like to live life - it goes quickly, so gotta get 'er done," Loftesnes said.
