WILLISTON - Three people were injured in an oil field explosion Friday, according to the Williston Fire Department.
The Williston department was dispatched at 6:11 p.m. to the location northwest of Williston. The Epping Rural Fire Protection District was the primary fire response agency.
It was determined that there were believed to be five workers present on the site at the time of the explosion. Three sustained burn injuries. The injured persons were being transported to the hospital by private vehicle when met by ambulance crews between the scene and Williston. The ambulance then transported the injured workers to the hospital in Williston.
All three persons were later transferred by fixed-wing air medical services to a regional burn hospital in Colorado, the fire department reported.
