South Prarie FFA excels at national convention

Five members of the South Prairie FFA Chapter represented the state of North Dakota and competed at the 96th National FFA Convention and Expo Nov. 1-4.
Only the top member or team represents North Dakota FFA at the national level. South Prairie had one state champion member in the Employment Skills event and one state champion team in the Food Science and Technology event.
Annaliese Rauschenberger, a recent South Prairie graduate, competed in the Employment Skills event. This event scores members on their ability to create cover letters, resumes, employment applications as well as how to conduct virtual and in person interviews. Rauschenberger placed silver in the event, in the top half of all individuals in the event.
The chapter also represented North Dakota FFA in the Food Science and Technology competition. The event includes knowledge of the food industry, food quality assurance, industry conversions, hazard analysis, sensory evaluation, product development and marketing. Members Madelyn Hogue, Joshua Lindbo, Brylee Beeter, and Natalee Becker competed in the event. Brylee Beeter and Natalee Becker placed silver individually. Joshua Lindbo and Madelyn Hogue placed gold individually. The team placed gold and was fourth place in the nation.
