Dunseith port project moves forward
DUNSEITH – The U.S. General Services Administration reports it is exercising a contract option for construction management and commissioning services on a new land port of entry in Dunseith.
GSA awarded a $746,212 base contract plus options to Jacobs Technology, Inc. in July 2022. The option being exercised now is for construction management and commissioning services, valued at $2.5 million. Jacobs will assist GSA in requirements development, acquisition, design reviews and construction management for the project. The contract is funded through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.
GSA anticipates awarding the design-build contract for Phase II in the coming spring.
The overall project will assist the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Customs and Border Protection to carry out its mission at the border crossing that connects Dunseith with Boissevain, Manitoba. Most traffic through the port is visitors to the International Peace Garden.
