Minot community members will have an opportunity to come together this week to talk about future environmental sustainability efforts and goals.
"What's Next for Sustainability in Minot?" is a series of public conversations and listening sessions designed to gather information, spark ideas, create connections and envision the future of the Minot community. All events are open to the public. Event dates and times are:
-- Today from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Prairie Sky Breads, 3 1st St. SE.
-- Tuesday from 2-3 p.m. at Main Street Books, 8 Main St. S.
-- Tuesday from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Prairie Sky Breads.
All events are hosted by Tim Baumann as part of a grant awarded through the ND Change Network and the Bush Foundation. Conversations will be facilitated by Ellen Duffey using "The Art of Hosting" techniques. Participants should plan to stay for the entirety of the event. A final summary of all conversations and ideas will be presented to all participants via email.
"The Minot community has made significant progress in environmental sustainability in the last five year," Baumann said. "This series of conversations is an important part of determining how we grow in the coming years. We want to hear from residents, students and business leaders to learn about what they want Minot to be in five years and beyond."
The first 70 participants will receive a $10 gift card that can be used at Downtown Business and Professionals Association member businesses.
