ND Firefighter’s Museum Hall of Fame

GARRISON – The North Dakota Firefighter’s Museum has announced three inductees will be entered into the North Dakota Firefighters Hall of Fame at a ceremony and banquet in Garrison Oct . 14.

The 2023 Inductees into the North Dakota Firefighters Hall of Fame are: Michael Stewart, Rolette, active firefighter from 1993-2016, Rolette Fire Department fire chief and training officer; Oscar Knudtson Jr., Watford City, active firefighter since 1976, Watford City Fire Department fire chief and training officer; and Joe Wanner, Gladstone, active firefighter from 1977-2023, Gladstone Consolidated Fire District fire chief.

Induction into the Hall of Fame is conferred upon outstanding individuals whose contributions to and leadership of the fire service within the State of North Dakota have been a milestone in the development of those services; whose actions have served not just their community, but have contributed significantly to the fire service on a regional, statewide, or national basis; and, whose leadership and accomplishments in these areas are widely recognized and respected in the North Dakota fire service.

The public is invited to the Hall of Fame Induction and Banquet at the Garrison Fire Department. The festivities begin with an open house at the N.D. Firefighter’s Museum at 4:30 p.m., Fallen Firefighter’s Remembrance Ceremony at 5 p.m., and a social and banquet at 6 p.m. The induction ceremony will follow.
