Minot professional recognized by EDA of ND

BISMARCK - The Economic Development Association of North Dakota presented its 2023 Emerging Young Professional of the Year award to Mark Lyman, economic development specialist for the Minot Area Chamber EDC.

Since joining MACEDC in 2021, Lyman has shown his drive and ability to bring projects, businesses and life to the Minot area, creating a significant impact on the region, according to the association.

The award acknowledges outstanding achievement by an individual who shows promising leadership skills and positively impacts their organization, community and/or region through economic development. This person should have five or fewer years of experience in the industry.

The association presented its annual awards during its fall conference Sept. 12-13 in Bowman.

Other awards were:

- Economic Developer of the Year, Jim Murphy, Traill County Economic Development Commission.

- Community Development Award, New Rockford Area Betterment Corp. For its Community Daycare Project.

- Economic Development Project of the Year, ADM and Marathon Petroleum Corp. for the Green Bison Processing Facility at Spiritwood with Jamestown Stutsman Development Corp.
