The Minot Police Department has charged two individuals in relation to a shooting incident from July 7 that sent a man to the hospital.

Arrest warrants for the two parties were signed and issued by district court Judge Richard Hagar on Sept. 15.

Sydney Roller, 20, Minot was arrested for her alleged role in the shooting, while Jordan Bailey, 26, Minot, is also sought but remains at large.

According to court documents, the victim, designated as John Doe in the affidavit, was transported to Trinity Hospital for treatment of multiple gunshot wounds. Investigators responding to the scene of the shooting at a northwest Minot address found that bullets fired not only entered his residence, but two other apartments where residents were sleeping, including one that had five children and an adult female sleeping inside. Investigators recovered 24 casings of both .40-caliber and .223-caliber rounds at the scene.

John Doe told investigators he did not see the shooters, but that he suspected Bailey's involvement due to tensions between them involving the mother of Bailey's child. The night of the shooting the victim had been out drinking at a local bar when he encountered Bailey and a second indvidual, but Doe said they left before a confrontation could occur. After Doe left the bar and returned home, he says he was contacted by Roller on Snapchat, leading to him inviting her over to have sex.

Doe told investigators that after Roller left his residence, she called him outside to help her look for a missing wallet. Doe says that after he began assisting Roller, she abruptly laid down in the seat of the car. Shots began ringing soon after, with bullets striking Doe as he attempted to flee back into his apartment.

Investigators interviewed Roller with her attorney Grant Walker on July 7, where she allegedly changed her statement several times and was caught lying despite her maintaining she was not involved with the shooting. Walker would later contact investigators on behalf of his client to provide additional information about her activities that evening, when Roller put herself in the same vehicle as Bailey after encountering Doe at the bar.

Investigators say they were able to interview Bailey on July 14, and that he provided an alibi saying roller gave him a ride home after stopping at the bar, after which he left for White Earth Lake and was out of town for a week. The alibi was investigated and determined to be false after receiving a statement from an anonymous witness that led to the discovery of a traffic stop on July 8. Investigators also cited data extracted from his cell phone and location data provided by Verizon not only for his location on the night of the shooting, but as confirmation that he owned and used firearms that matched the caliber of the casings found at the scene.

Roller appeared before Judge Gary Lee for her initial appearance on Monday, where she was charged with 10 Class C felonies: nine charges for accomplice to reckless endangerment and one count of accomplice to aggravated assault. Lee set Roller's bond at $200,000, and scheduled her preliminary hearing for Oct. 26.
