Williston Police Department vehicle involved in crash
WILLISTON – A patrol vehicle belonging to the Williston Police Department was struck by another vehicle at an intersection in Williston on Thursday.
According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, about 9:30 p.m., a 2021 Dodge Durango patrol vehicle, driven by a 28-year-old male officer, was going east on Second Street East. A 2015 Ford Escape, driven by a 17-year-old female from Williston, was traveling south on Second Avenue East. The Ford failed to yield at the intersection marked with a stop sign and struck the patrol vehicle. The back seat passenger of the patrol vehicle, a 35-year-old woman from Culbertson, Montana, suffered minor injuries and was taken to CHI St. Alexius in Williston. She was later released from the hospital.
The Ford’s driver was not injured. She was wearing her seat belt. The Williston Police Department officer driving the patrol vehicle was not injured. He and the passenger in the patrol vehicle were wearing their seat belts.
The crash remains under investigation by the Highway Patrol.
