Tioga bank recognized for youth programs

TIOGA – The Bank of Tioga earned a “Bankers in Action” recognition at the North Dakota Banking Association and South Dakota Banking Association joint annual state convention held in Sioux Fall, South Dakota, June 4-6.

The Bank of Tioga was among one of six banks selected to present to more than 300 registrants for the convention about its financial literacy efforts and in-school banking programs.

“We believe reinvesting in our communities is as important as the products and services we provide. Each employee, client and community member has been the fiber of our success and the reason we can reinvest back into the community. To share our story of impact with our in-school banks branches in both Tioga and Crosby was an honor,” said Savanna Hendrickson, The Bank of Tioga president.

The student-branch structure and financial literacy curriculum provided by The Bank of Tioga, is made possible by the bank’s mission to reinvest 10% of its pre-tax income back into the community.

The Bank of Tioga DC Branch in Crosby began Jan. 4, 2018, and the Pirate Branch in Tioga opened Oct. 29, 2021. The student banks are available to grades K-6 with the objective to help create good savings habits and encouraging super savers who participate at least 50% of the time throughout the school year.
