The Village Family Service Center has discontinued its Adoption and Pregnancy programs and its Financial Resource Center.
Both programs have had a major decline in appointment requests, according to information from the center. The two programs combined serviced less than 3% of center's total clients. Decreased participation, increased competition from for-profit entities and rising operating costs are the cited reasons for cutting the programs. The Village is currently contacting affected clients.
The center is pivoting focus to more prevalent community needs such as mental health, employee assistance programs and addiction counseling.
The center has offices in North Dakota including Minot and in Minnesota.
