State Parade road closures announced

Several Minot streets will be closed Saturday morning for the annual North Dakota State Parade, according to the Minot Police Department.

The parade route will begin at the intersection of 18th Avenue Southwest and South Broadway. It will proceed north to Burdick Expressway, where the route will continue east on Burdick, ending at the State Fairgrounds. The parade is preceded by the "Run the Route 5K," which starts at 8:45 a.m.

Police will begin blocking traffic at 8 a.m., starting with South Broadway from 18th Avenue Southwest to Burdick Expressway. At 8:30 a.m., Burdick Expressway will be blocked to traffic for the duration of the parade. Motorists are asked to use alternate routes.

The Burdick Expressway viaduct construction project cones and barriers were moved Thursday, opening all four lanes for traffic through Sunday. The cones/barriers will be reinstalled Monday when contractors continue the project.
