This is Los Moralitos’s second time at the N.D. State Fair, showcasing its wide range of unpredictable and unbelievable acts.
Los Moralitos Circus has been around for six years, but as performers, Johnathan said, “We were all raised into this. Brian is my brother. Karina, our announcer, is my sister-in-law, and our mom is the one who does the lighting and sound. We have all been performing since we were about four years old.”
“We are self-taught and pick up this stuff pretty easily,” Brian said.
The entertainers are devoted to their art form, choosing to spend their lives constantly on the road, traveling to different county and state fairs. They all agree their favorite part about the North Dakota State Fair is the crowds they get.

“When the crowds cheer, it’s something you never really get to experience outside of doing this,” Johnathan said. “Seeing the crowds’ reactions to the things we do is the greatest feeling.”
The cast of the Los Moralitos Circus attempt to make the show as interactive as possible for viewers. Halfway through the show, they select four children from those eagerly raising their hands for a chance to come up on stage to engage in a hula-hooping contest. The winning competitor is honored with loud cheers and a circus balloon.
“A unique thing about our show is that we invite kids up on stage. It’s good for them to get past those barriers and step in the ring with us and make that connection with them,” Johnathan said.
