Grants available for food, shelter programs
North Central North Dakota has been chosen to receive funding from EFSP Phase 40 Funds to supplement emergency food and shelter programs in the counties of Bottineau, Burke, McHenry, Mountrail, Pierce, Renville and Ward.
The distribution of federal funds comes from a state board with representatives from the American Red Cross, Catholic Charities USA, National Council of Churches of Christ in the USA, the Jewish Federations of North America, The Salvation Army, and United Way Worldwide.
To receive fnds, local agencies must be nonprofits or units of government that are eligible to receive federal funds and have demonstrated the capability to deliver emergency food and/or shelter programs.
Qualifying organizations interested in applying for Emergency Food and Shelter Program Funds should contact Christy Miller at the Souris Valley United Way at christy@svunitedway.com or 839.2994 for an application. The deadline for applications to be returned is Aug. 14.
