Five injured in crash in Williston

WILLISTON – Five people were injured in a two-car crash in Williston on Thursday afternoon.

According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, a 2023 Jeep Wrangler was traveling north on 32nd Avenue West in Williston near a roundabout when a 2019 Ford Edge was going through it. The Jeep failed to yield to the Ford Edge and struck it at a right angle. The Ford then spun and rolled before coming to rest on its roof. The Jeep spun and caught on fire.

The Jeep was driven by Anna Blazicevich, 42, Williston, and the Ford Edge was driven by Katelund Cooper, 27, Williston, with Nessie Gutierrez, 24, of Williston, and two female infants, ages 4 and 9 months, as passengers. The occupants were reported to be wearing restraints but were all transported by ambulance to CHI St. Alexius in Williston. The adults were transported for treatment of serious injuries and the juveniles for minor injuries.

Investigators said they believe Blazicevich was potentially under the influence of alcohol and was placed under arrest for criminal vehicular injury. The crash remains under investigation.
