The long-awaited pretrial conference in the Anita Knutson case previously set for June 14 has been rescheduled yet again.

The attorneys for Nichole Rice, 35, Minot, filed a stipulation to continue the court date on May 31, requesting more time for both the defense and the state to review and work through, “significant, new discovery.” District court Judge Richard Hagar granted the motion, resetting the hearing for Sept. 27 at 11 a.m. This is the third continuance granted for this pretrial hearing, which was originally supposed to take place in the fall of 2022.

Rice is charged with Class AA felony murder in the June 2007 stabbing death of her then roommate Anita Knutson, 18, which had gone cold for nearly 15 years before her arrest last March.
