Fort Berthold rural water tour June 29

The Fort Berthold Rural Water System and North Dakota Water Education Foundation will host the Providing for the People Tour on June 29.

Participants will learn more about the Three Affiliated Tribes’ efforts to meet the water needs of the Fort Berthold Reservation. The system provides water to the Little Shell (New Town), Four Bears, Mandaree, Twin Buttes, Lucky Mound (Parshall) and White Shield segments.

Stops on the one-day tour include the Native Green Grow (NG2) project, a 40-acre multi-part project in Parshall helping the MHA Nation achieve food sovereignty, and Four Bears and White Shield water treatment plants and intakes. The tour begins and ends in New Town.

Individual registration is $30 per person and includes tour transportation, lunch, refreshments, informational material and a one-year subscription to North Dakota Water magazine.
