Discovery Center to host Flag Day event
The Magic City Discovery Center on Minot’s North Hill is inviting the public to a Flag Day celebration on Wednesday. The Minot Air Force Base Honor Guard will have a presentation, raising the first U.S. flag to be flown at the discovery center at 3 p.m.
The U.S. flag to be presented had previously been flown over the North Dakota Capitol Building in Bismarck, now finding its home in Minot at the Magic City Discovery Center.
The center will be offering half-priced admission to military and veteran families with proper identification. There also will be patriotic-themed activities going on all day, including a quilt of valor on display that children have helped create in the weeks leading up to the event. The discovery center plans to gift the quilt to a veteran upon its completion.
The discovery center will be open regular operating hours, 9 a.m.-4 p.m., on Flag Day.
