Kyle Sandy is the valedictorian of the graduating class at Velva High School. In the fall he plans on attending Minot State University to pursue a degree in physical education and kinesiology.
He is the son of Larry and Kim Sandy; both are teachers at Velva High School. He has one brother, Josh, who lives in Minnesota, and two sisters, Katelyn and Jadyn, who live in Minot.
When asked what advice he would give his five-year-old self, Sandy said, “Live in the moment. Time goes by so fast.” His favorite memory from high school was winning the state championship in football.
Sandy is involved with Oak Valley Lutheran Church in Velva, where he participates in community service projects. Since he is staying local, he plans to remain active with his church and support his friends who will still be in high school.
