Seniors will be honored on Tuesday, May 9, when the 25th Annual Salute to Seniors is held in the Minot Municipal Auditorium.
Lois Zahn, president of the Minot Area Senior Coalition, sponsors of the event, said this year's theme is "Celebrating Our Seniors."
Doors will open at 9 a.m. and activities will continue until 3 p.m., according to Zahn.
Featured entertainment will include Little Chicago Funk brass band, Glenburn Jazz Quartet, The Replacements, fiddle music by Orlin Larson of Washburn and Minot Chamber Chorale.
Members of the Little Chicago Funk band are Darryl Hicks, bass guitar and vocals; Robert Thomas, keyboards; Andy Rennick, guitar; John Spitzer, drums; Kim Whittemore, guitar and vocals; Tyler Schwan, trombone and vocals; Coleen Schwan, bari sax and vocals; Pat Schwan, trumpet; and Charles Young, tenor sax.
The event also will have vendors, door prizes, a photo booth, coffee and doughnuts and dancing. Homesteaders Restaurant will cater the hot lunch.
Tickets are $20 each and available at the door. Those planning to attend are asked to call 852-3398 and leave a message with the number of people attending.
The Minot Area Senior Coalition is comprised of assisted living facilities, long-term care facilities, in-home care and other business people.
