FORTUNA — One person died from injuries and another was seriously injured in a pickup-motorcycle crash at the intersection of N.D. Highway 5 and U.S. Highway 85, about six miles east of Fortuna in Divide County on Sunday. The crash occurred at 4:18 p.m.
According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, a Ford F-150 pickup driven by a 25-year-old was going south on Divide County Road 2. The 42-year-old driver of the motorcycle was going east on Highway 5. The pickup failed to yield to the motorcycle and struck the motorcycle. The driver and 43-year-old passenger of the motorcycle were thrown from the motorcycle. Both had serious injuries and were taken to the Crosby hospital, then transferred to Trinity Health in Minot. The motorcycle passenger succumbed to the injuries. The pickup driver was not injured.
The crash remains under investigation of the Highway Patrol.
